Overview
Performance bands are used to categorize the percent correct score for an assignment. Performance bands are set for percent ranges that can be labeled to indicate a level of mastery, a grade, or to indicate proficiency. Performance bands can be created for the whole subscription to access by Gradient Leaders who have access to any of the 3 default Access Groups (read on) or created individually by staff for their own personal use. See Performance Bands.
In the case where a district has multiple schools, Performance Bands created by one school will be available to all schools. We recommend applying a naming convention, such as the school acronym, to the Performance Band to help identify the source.
Create District Performance Bands
1. Log in to Gradient. Select the Account Menu(top right corner). 2. Choose Admin Mode. 3. From Admin Mode, select the Account Menu (top right corner). 4. Choose Settings 5. Select Performance Bands and reference these steps if needed.

Tip! If your subscription contains multiple schools or departments with different grading scales, consider naming your performance band with a school abbreviation.
Grading
District performance bands are typically created for a common grading scale so that staff don't have to create their own. District performance bands can be linked during assignment creation or toggled on for use in assignment responses, reports, and grade transfer. See how to Grade Transfer Using Performance Bands.
Feedback
Leaders and staff often create multiple performance bands for formative assignments versus graded assignments. Other scenarios for creating additional performance bands would include rubric-scored assignments, standards-based grading, or matching a competency scale. They can also be used to label scores in a way that gives feedback. Review the tips for editing Performance Bands.
Reports
Performance bands are the teacher’s tool for quick and accurate student data analysis. See how to Configure Reports.
