Performance Bands
Performance bands categorize percent ranges on a test into levels and labels you've created. Performance bands are labeled to indicate what the percent score means for the student’s proficiency. Performance bands can be used to group student achievement into teacher-determined ranges for quick analysis and actionable feedback! Create District Performance Bands!
Academic Year
Academic Years (school year) and Terms (grading periods for classes) bundle classes into manageable timeframes. To prevent duplicate or inaccurate classes from appearing in Gradient over time, roster imports are suspended when the academic year ends to allow a Gradient Leader to connect with their roster leads before re-starting the school year.
Term Padding
Values set for term padding will determine how many days terms are considered part of the “current term” before they start and after they end. Term padding allows staff to print forms, scan, set up online access, and grade for classes outside of the current term dates.
Integrations
Gradient can be set up as an "external tool" for learning management systems (LMS) like Canvas, Jupiter, and Schoology so that staff can connect their assignments created in Gradient to the LMS that students are familiar with. Once enabled, teachers can connect their assignments for student TURN IN access to deliver an assignment or REVIEW access after an assignment has been graded. Connecting an assignment to the LMS also automatically enables grade transfer.
Restrictions
A variety of login methods are available to staff and students as a default. To restrict the login options for all staff and students, enable the requirement to login via Single Sign On (SSO). This will remove the ability for a Gradient Leader to Send Invites and Reset Passwords, as well as the ability for any user to type their login credentials. This restriction option is not used by most Gradient Leaders.
Imports
Class Display Names give administrators an easy way to manage the naming of classes that appear in Gradient. If your rosters are being automatically synced nightly into Gradient, be sure to navigate to Admin Mode > Settings > Imports to toggle on the setting for Ignore Class Display Names. This will allow you to update Class Display Names manually or via a one-time import without the nightly sync overriding the manual inputs.
If you ever need to wipe out all Class Display Names and re-do them, simply navigate to Admin Mode > Settings > Imports and disable the setting for Ignore Class Display Names to let the automated nightly sync override them or re-run a manual import. Check out more File Import resources.
The feature(s) mentioned are only available to Gradient for Schools & Districts subscribers. Please contact sales@gradecam.com to upgrade your subscription.
